Old Mac Mini use?

I'd like to use an old Mac Mini (1.1 running 10.6.8) as a host for my LAN Time Capsule drives. Does anyone know if this older OS version will work for backup/restore of specific files from a new system?

I don't think a full system restore to say the latest (as of this question) would work, but if you can let me know that would be great .

Thanks.

Hello,

With macOS 10.6 Snow Leopard you will need to acquire Snow Leopard Server which has support for serving a Time Machine share.
