Which earbuds work with the 3rd Generation Shuffle

I recently picked up an iPod Shuffle 3rd Gen but it did not come with headphones/earbuds. I have a number of earbuds that came with iPhones and none of them seem to work (buttons don't do anything). What earbuds originally came with the 3rd Gen and can I still buy them somewhere or do I have a paperclip now?

The MNHF2AM/A EarPods (link in original post) do not show the 3rd Generation Shuffle as being compatible. Why? I have three of those and while I can hear the music playing the controls do not make any adjustment (can't increase or reduce volume or play/pause tracks with the center button. What model of EarPods or other headphones originally shipped with the 3rd Gen Shuffle?

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6044148 suggests the same thing. The EarPods are NOT compatible with the 3rd Gen Shuffle. Will have to try one of the adapters. Weird that I cannot seem to find 3G Shuffle compatible headphones anywhere on Apple's site.
