Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Verification Failed - An unknown error occurred

This is odd. I can log into apple with my apple id (as evidenced by being in this forum, I guess?), and log into the CLoud on my iPhone 5S. Now, when I try to update my IOS , I get the above error message, exactly as printed above.

Any ideas anyone ?

Frustrated and Fed up with my iPhone to the point of ditching it.

Have you tried updating it using iTunes?


Update your iOS device


Get help with over-the-air iOS updates


Update – Can’t or can’t restore


Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device


If necessary


Hard reset


Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.


Restore to Factory setting


Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup
