Prevent Processes

Is there a way I can prevent/disable an app process?

Spotify (Spotify helper/renderer) is eating too much memory, like nearly 1000Mb!

This is causing my Mac to run slower so what I'm currently doing is opening the Activity Monitor and

quitting this process. My memory usage then drops and my Mac runs smooth again.

The process does start again, however, but only using a fraction of memory which I can accept.

This is the only app to cause me problems and I'm not a power user - my main use for my Mac is browsing the internet and playing music.

Mac mini Late 2012

2.6 Ghz Core i7

4GB RAM

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

1000Mb = 1 GB not that much(?)

You can try updating your 3rd party app. or

uninstall to test How to uninstall Spotify on a MAC? - The Spotify Community
