Some Apple aplications suddenly stoped working

Hi guys, I have this problem going on for a few weeks now. Some applications are quitting unexpectedly, all of the are Apple apps- QuickTime, Final Cut and Logic Pro. I'm considering and iOS upgrade, but I want to know if theres other ways to solve this before I got for the update. I already restarted PRAM, as I found this suggestion online but it didn't help.

iOS does not run on Macs. It runs on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Now as for your applications not working, either you upgraded them beyond what runs on your Mac OS version, or you disabled their functionality by installing some malware that manages your caches. System caches should never be cleaned by any system management tool. Backup your data is the only tool you should run on your Mac. That said, we can determine exactly what is happening if you get hhttp://www.etrecheck.com/

and report its report back to us. This will tell us what may be causing problems.

PS:

I see avast, cleanmymac/macpaw, and other unneeded marginal or bad software in this report.

The need is to remove stuff that is not needed; and get into habit of making backups without

the extra unwarranted junk installed. No adware, no antivirus, no cleanup junk.

Two items are recommended, plus time to figure how to uninstall &/or remove other stuff:

These I have installed on my mac: Malwarebytes for Mac (free from maker) & EtreCheck.

And each can help remove and quarantine stuff; so long as you realize what's not needed.

Also the Safari browser has no recent update; those are included with newer OS. The recent

version of Firefox browser is a good option, up-to-date & works with El Capitan. And email

client application Thunderbird also from Mozilla is an option. Both of these are updated.

Good luck & happy computing!🌻☃️

The space is a big concern. You should copy to a different hard drive your pictures and movies, and then backup the same to another hard drive. Your boot drive should never be over 85% full in order to function properly. Kernel panics may be the result of the space or a hardware issue, but until we eliminate the overflowing problem we can’t rule that out.

Macpaw software uninstallers don't complete remove everything. You need to search using Devon Technologies EasyFind for any leftover components of Macpaw and remove them while you are in safe mode (hold the shift key at startup). Same for Cleanmymac, Mackeeper and Zeobit. The three program types are the most commonly downloaded malware from Torrent and unsafe movie sites that can really screw up your Mac. Don't use uTorrent. It is a loaded with Malware risks. If you need software, go to the Mac App Store, or go directly to the developer website. Using unlicensed software opens you up to the risks you have encountered. When in safe mode you can remove all their components.

Avast is itself not a bad tool, but you should turn off its notifications so they don't get in your way.

You need to also free up up Macintosh HD so it has at very minimum 60 GB free. 10 GB free won't cut it.

Within instructions for making a report and posting to Apple Support Communities

there is reference to using a text-tool inside the Reply section of this page, at bottom.

This, allows an EtreCheck copy of your entire Report ~ to be imported to ASC; and starts

by following instructions exactly & then use 'Additional Text' Icon/Tool to upload the File.

And you can choose before that point, to have EtreCheck report contain more details.

This is better, or use PasteBin (never used it) to include the report via an offsite URL.

There's just a bit too much missing to try to guess on parts which make a difference.

And several problematic areas need further information to address better.
