MacBook Pro completely freezes

Hi,

I got a 13" MacBook Pro Early 2015, 8GB RAM.

I've recently started having this issue where the whole computer would just freeze. Cursor won't move, if I'm watching a movie or video when it happens it will freeze too. If there's any sound playing, music or video sound, it will start looping the last split second played before the freeze with regular intervals. The freeze forces me to shut down the system through holding down the power button until it shuts down because there is no other way to input any commands to the system.

I first read that it could have to do with too much RAM used. But after monitoring the RAM usage, I can conclude that this is not the case due to the fact that it happens during very low loads such as watching youtube or similar.

An EtreCheck report can be found below. Any help or ideas on how to fix this is much appreciated.

But the MacBook still freezes when under very low GPU usage, so I'm wondering if that may be the case.

And I have not started to use the system under heavier loads than before.

The Apple diagnostic test is called AST (Apple Service Toolkit) is much more comprehensive, then the user available diagnostic.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"—

You can To trouble shoot further:

  Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache,  etc.  Login and test. Reboot and test will take a little longer as caches get rebuilt.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
