Is there a way to edit anamorphic media in FCP X? FCP X Help says there is an Anamorphic Override in the Settings tab of the Inspector but that does not exist in my version (10.4.6).

@the OP: Well, that's an override switch. You need it only if the metadata in your files has the wrong value for whether the media is anamorphic or not.
I was under the impression that the feature shows up on the menu only if the media is in either of the two supported formats, though I could well be wrong about that. If you are still covered by AppleCare, they're the ones to call if no one here can help you.
Could you give the exact specs of the media? Normally you don't need to override, you simply edit in an anamorphic project.
Please excuse my curiosity and my ignorance: what are the reasons one might elect to shoot anamorphic in this day and age of 4K, 5K and 8K, none of which is anamorphic? It seems to me that anamorphic, just like interlaced formats, should just die. Don't get me wrong, I am genuinely curious!
Ask Steven Spielberg who shoots mostly anamorphic. Or watch the video I posted above.
Many filmmakers love its traditional (in the Hollywood sense) cinematic look. Personally, I am not blown away by it.
To me, nothing is more important than story.

It hasn't been shot yet. But what I plan to do is create a custom project at 5107 X 2160, then
change the X scale to 133%.
Can I ask what camera you're shooting and how? There is no anamorphic format UHD that I know of.

The lens seems to shoot in 2.39:1, so you might want to stick to that aspect ratio for the project.
