Impossible to copy "Bibliothèque Photos.photoslibrary" with "Synology Drive"

Good morning,

I would like to copy "Photoslibrary.photoslibrary" to get a copy of my photos on my Nas Synology but I have an error.

For backing up all my Mac data, I use "Synology Drive" which copies all my important files to my Nas except for this folder and I don't understand why...

Error message why my english : "Photoslibrary.photoslibrary cannot be synchronized because access is denied or it is being used"

Who use Photo Station or Moments with a iMac ?

Who have a solution for me ?

Regards

Then you'll have to export the original image files to folders

and copy those folders to the EHD.

By checking the Export IPTC as XMP checkbox you'll be including any metadata, title, keywords, descriptions, etc., that you added to the image in Photos with the image. When the two files are imported into another Photos library together the metadata will be added to the image in the library.

To add to Terence's warning about NAS drives, the Photos library has a complex ecosystem of file permissions and hard links that the file system of NAS drive so not support. You may be able to copy your library to it eventually but the chance of getting a working copy back is minimal.

If you value your library and the work that you've put into it I wouldn't use the Synology to backup the library.

Tks for your answer but a Nas is perfect for backing up files, the disk format is appropriate because I back up all my files like this and only the photo directory doesn't work anymore (I think it stopped working with Mojave). Network sharing works perfectly between Mac, Synology, Windows,... and whatever you want, I have my music on my Nas because I don't like the Apple management for these files and everything works perfectly... I have a backup "Photoslibrary.photoslibrary" on my Nas dating from August 23rd 2018 after that, nothing, it worked but it doesn't work anymore...

Before I had my TimeMachine on my Synology but since Mojave, it doesn't work anymore either, I had to plug an external USB hard drive to find a working Time Machine :-(

Thanks but I want to have a copy of my photos on my Synology, it's just my choice ;) It used to work perfectly and since Mojave I think, it doesn't work anymore...

I don't like the way Apple manages my photos and music, I prefer to organize myself its two folders, for music, it's already done, I don't use the automatic iTunes manager I don't like and for photos, the same, I don't have the management I don't control, finding a photo on MAc is catastrophic. I've always had a Mac and I've never understood this management....

Today, I would like, as before, to save the "Photoslibrary.photoslibrary" folder on my Nas and it doesn't work anymore... That's just my question ;)

Then downgrade to Mojave, where it worked for you. Keeping the referenced files on a NAS has never been supported, even if it worked for you, and the new security features on Catalina are adding an additional level of complication. And there have been a few new bugs reported for Photos 5.0 on Catalina; referenced photos in an iCloud Photos Library can cause the iCloud sync to hang; referenced photos are currently not shown on the Places map. I would not even think of using a referenced library currently while running Catalina, NAS or not.
