Dolby Vision Artifacts

I have a Vizio E65 F1 4k HDR tv, which supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. Recently upgraded to a 4k Apple TV. I have it connected directly to HDMI 1 on the tv with a high speed HDMI cable. My internet speed is about 40mbps. The TV picture is set to calibrated with UHD full color turned ON. As far as I can tell, Dolby Vision works great on Disney+. However, on iTunes and Apple TV+ content (specifically See and It: Chapter 2) there are some pretty intense artifact issues in the shadows. Forcing the Apple TV to output only HDR10 seems to solve this, but then Disney+ content looks washed out. I've included a video to show what I'm talking about. Anyone else have this issue? Did you find a solution?

Update: I may have stumbled across a temp fix. I started the opening sequence of See, which is a perfect test of the issue, as it goes back and forth between pure black and bright colors. At first the banding was very apparent. BUT, while the episode was playing, I changed the settings on the TV from Full UHD Color ON to OFF. The TV restarted and then the banding was gone. The top of the screen still said Dolby Vision. Excited, I went over to IT: Chapter 2 to see if the issue was solved there. NOPE. The banding was still happening on that one. However, while playing the video I went back into the TV and switched Full UHD color back to on. Sure enough, the banding disappeared. Here's the pattern I'm now seeing. Each time I load iTunes content, I need to switch UHD Full Color off and then on again to get DV content to play without any issues. I'm thinking it's got to be some kind of handshake issue between the Apple TV and my Vizio. Toggling that switch forces the two to reevaluate their connection and then we are good to go. I don't know why this only seems to be an issue with iTunes movies, though. The opening of the Mandalorian, where the Star Wars logo emerges out of black, would almost certainly set off the kind of issues I'm seeing with IT and See, if the issue were purely a hardware thing, but it looks great.

That's actually kind of encouraging to me! If it's an issue that's affecting more than one type of Vizio TV it seems more likely to be eventually fixed. What kind of HDMI cable are you using? Mine's a Blackweb HDR-ready high speed. I kind of hope it's not just the HDMI cable, as it was a massive pain to run it through the wall! On the other hand, if it is the cable, at least that's something I can fix without waiting for Apple or Vizio to figure it out.
