icloud photos stuck decompressing zip file

after selecting the photos i want to download to my computer from the iCloud it downloads and then gets stuck decompressing the zip file i wait and wait and it never stops decompressing i even check downloads and the file is still decompressing any ideas?

Unable to Unzip Photos from iCloud I am trying to download photos from iCloud to my iMac. Using https://www.icloud.com/photos/ I select the photos and then use the download button. Whether one photo or many this creates a .zip file on my mac. When I go to open that file I get a message "unable to expand iCloud Photos into (File Name). Error 2 no such file or directory". I tried installing another decompression app (called Decompressor) and that did not work either, another similar error message. What is wrong here?

Downloading photos from iCloud I know that Apple now make photos downloaded from iCloud go into a zip file, but when I try to open the zip file it says it’s empty or corrupt. What can I do? Thanks

How do I download my entire iCloud Photos library easily? Selecting all the photos to download from iCloud on the browser does not work. It stalls and freezes. I need an archive zip file of my entire photos library. This will never get done without it.

restarted the computer and downloaded again and it worked
