hide output devices in menu bar volume control menu

When I click the volume icon in the menu bar, the menu shows a volume slider and a selection of output devices.

I want it to only show the volume slider

Volume bar on side of screen Hi so today I managed somehow to get the bar on the side of the screen and when I drag it across, it shows the full volume control that you can drag up and down to change the volume. The problem is that I don’t know how I did this and would like to find out how I could make it show again just because it was super handy to have. Thanks fam.
