See Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community. The HDD stats aren't too bad, but the 168 pending sectors need to converted into reallocated sectors for your device to function properly. Restore, reformat, or DFU restore may take care of that.

See iPod Service Pricing - Apple Support for Apple's charge to replace the battery in an iPod classic. If that seems a little steep (it is) you can find the battery for a few $/£ on Amazon or eBay. I've renewed several batteries in iPod classics. The hard part is getting the case open, the rest is relatively easy. YouTube has videos that can show you how it is done.

I have tested few chargers (Apple OEM) and found the large adapters will not work on iPod classic most of the time, I think due to voltage protection. I can charge my iPod video/iPod mini, using these type of charger, but not 6th/7th gen iPod classic.

I found using the "smaller" such as iPhone charger, usually works best.

I am sorry, due to the age of this iPod Apple no longer offers battery replacements.

BTW I see I misread the earlier screenshot and it is 8 pendings rather than 168, not that it would have changed the advice any.
