iPod Classic charging issue

Just recently my iPod classic isn't holidng its charge for long and takes hours to fully charge. Is the battery knackered? Can it be replaced?

Probably. Yes. See iPod Service Pricing - Apple Support, shop around for third party servicing, or grab the parts from Amazon or eBay if you fancy the DIY approach.
