Depending on the pre-purchased configuration, the amount of affixed memory will vary between those originally offered.

There is no 'memory upgrade' capability for this build series (Mac mini7.1) Except 'storage type' as upgrade path.

The older Late 2012 Mac mini 6.1/6.2 were last of this style to allow end users upgrade to memory &/or storage capacity. Newer 2018 model Mac mini8.1+ have other options. Identify your Late 2014 build model, to see what it is, then choose option(s) listed.

There is a page of upgrade 'examples' guaranteed to work available from OWC macsales; to see other options on how to upgrade these different models. There is a path to make these (without removable RAM) work better; you could upgrade the storage with faster data transfer speed solid-state-drive. Cost varies with capacity; this upgrade is near the only route open to this design build of hardware.

This upgrade path is a viable means to resolve performance and storage issues through faster SSD storage.

The RAM in the Mac mini 2014 is soldered to the logic board and therefore cannot be changed. (As indicated by den.thed)

The storage is either a SATA 2.5" hard drive or a PCIe SSD drive. These can both be changed.

You might want to consider an alternative option of selling your current Mac mini and buying another one. This could be a differently configured Mac mini 2014 i.e. with more (soldered) RAM, or it could be the newer Mac mini 2018.

The Mac mini 2018 does allow you to swap the RAM as it is fitted in sockets. The Mac mini 2018 however only has an SSD which is soldered to the logic board. However at least you can always use an external drive.
