Why is my Other system file over 20GB?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with Other System Data using more storage than expected. I'd be happy to share information that may help.

First, be sure your iPhone is fully updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. (You'll want to have a current backup prior to updating.)

Next, try the steps here as a possible resolution:

1. Set Auto-Lock to "Never" under Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock.
2. Connect your iPhone to power and Wi-Fi (be sure the network connection is strong.)
3. Open the Notes app, and leave this app open in the foreground overnight. Please limit any other device usage in this time
4. Once the overnight period is over, restart your iPhone and check your storage again: Restart your iPhone.

Have the same problem with an iPad, followed these instructions but virtually no change. So have less than half my ipad storage available. any further suggestions please?
