2018 Camry Apple CarPlay doesn’t work with IPhone 11pro max.

Has anyone else had issues with the 2018 Camry CarPlay upgrade not working with IPhone pro max? So frustrated!

I was having major issues but since I updated to 13.3.1 all of my issues have been resolved. Everything working perfectly on my 11 pro. So happy because I was so frustrated.

Have you had the system in your car retrofitted to support CarPlay?

The 2018 Camry was not available with CarPlay support from the factory.

It requires a retrofit of additional hardware and a firmware upgrade from Toyota.

Yes!!! Finally. I updated my phone on Wednesday and Thursday I had a go to meeting, a three way call and maybe 15 individual calls. They all worked where I couldn’t even have a single call before without static. So glad Apple sent out this update. Seems to be great now.

Yes I had the upgrade handled by a Toyota dealership. I can do maps, text etc. The phone calls are horrendous. Popping and cracking and huge delay. Even had the same dealer to reinstall the software. Worked for 1 day and started again. Love the performance of the XSE V6 but the technology is crap. My IPhone 7 Plus worked fine. No issues. Got the new 11 pro max and have to disconnect every time a call comes in.

Toyota has had more than a few problems with their infotainment systems and compatibility with both iPhones and Android devices.

You'll have to take it up with them.
