Apple Pencil not charging

My 1st generation Apple Pencil is connected to my iPad, shows it's charging and then a few minutes later it goes back down. For example it goes up to 27% and then 2 minutes after it's down to 21%.

Apple pencil charge Anyone had an issue where the pencil is charging and jumping around from 41% to 18% and so on - won't fully charge (it is charging directly from my ipad)
