After getting the above message when trying to erase a mac pro for return to Apple, how to best proceed to erase the drives?

Mac Erase Process has Failed - What to do? Anyone know what to do about this: mac erase process has failed the volume "Macintosh HD" on disk 2s5 couldn't be unmounted because it is in use by porrcess 652 (kextcache). I tried to restart and I get a spinning beachball. I followed the directions exactly. Thanks for any help.
