Bad CPU Type in Executable

Hi everyone. Today I attempted to install steam on my 2014 MacBook Air, and upon opening the console, I received a message about "zsh". A prompt Google search showed me how to change my terminal to zsh, but steam still wouldn't open, even after restarting my computer. Opening the console again, an error message appeared: "Bad CPU type in executable". I am unable to find any fixes for this without a link to how to change the terminal. Is there any way to look further into and/or fix this?

OK - so I finally did figure it out. If I recall correctly, you will need to go to your library folder and actually completely delete the files for steam, even if you did not have it installed before. It makes no sense. There is a guide on steam's website as well, for folks who upgraded from 10.14 to 10.15 to follow - and even though this did not apply to me, the steps there actually solved the problem oddly enough.
