Can't add email to existing contact

My sister recently changed her primary email, so I want to add it to my contacts. I've tried manually adding it in the contacts app, and through the click-menus in mail when I click on her new email address. But whenever I even manage to get to add a new email field, when I click done, it disappears. Even when I try to delete her old email, when I click done, it reappears. How can I add a new email to her contact, and also make it the default one?

Also, this new email is already on my phone contacts, but for some reason did not get carried over.

Are your contacts sync through iCloud your Mac & iPhone ?

https://www.icloud.com/ Log in there and see if it matches what you have updated already on the iPhone.

From the Mac you can from the >System Preferences>AppleID>iCloud>Contacts you can check and uncheck.

Sign out of iCloud. Then sign back in and test your Contacts.app
