Mail and Contacts issue

In Apple Mail, when I compose a new email and type in a coworker's name, Lezlie, it defaults to a former email address for her, which is no longer hers. I deleted that old email address from her record in Contacts, yet it still shows up as the default address in a new Mail message to her.

It's not a huge deal, I just have to be diligent when sending to her specifically, but it really would be nice if I could get mail to quit suggesting that email address entirely in association with her name, and especially to quit making it the 1st choice.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

The unwanted address is probably in the Previous Recipients list.

To remove it from there click on Mail's menu bar option Window, then choose Previous Recipients.

Search for your contact and in the results remove anything out of date: Click on the entry and then on the 'Remove from list' button.
