Cannot access my gmail account

When attempting to send email, get message: "Can't connect to the account "gmail" "

Asks for password for incorrect gmail account.


Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to send email since you are prompted to enter the password for the incorrect account. I know that being able to send email is important, so I can understand your concern. I’m happy to help. 


To start, please work through these steps: If you can’t send or receive emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.


If your iPhone continues to prompt you for your password. Try the following:


  1. Make sure your iOS is up-to-date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. Restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone.
  3. Test your cellular connection and a different Wi-Fi network. 
  4. Try sending mail using another device.
