Someone created this apple idea using my email and it wasn't me

So I received an email in my original gmail account that I have a new apple ID and cloud set up. Funny thing is I don't use apple and definitely wasn't me who set up the account. Wondering how I get this fake account shut down?

That is a Phishing eMail:

That is a scam eMail. Not one is going to set up this account without having access to your gmail account. You need to confirm of the Apple Account. So, contact Apple Support. If this were me, would most certainly consider modifying the password, and enabling Two-Factor Authentication for gmail and Apple. Consider contacting Google, if necessary. Enable: Two-Factor Authentication for Apple ID

Closing that Account:

If it turns out there is an Apple Account associated to your gmail account, request the Apple Rep to assist you with modifying the password for your Apple Account. Once modified, ask them about moving forward with setting the Apple Account for closure, if desired.

Report that to Apple:

Forward that eMail off to Apple at: reportphishing@apple.com

Security is of High Concern Here:

Posting on this site, you now have an Apple Account, so your Apple ID seems highly-vulnerable at the time. So, with Security being of big concern as of this reply, I suggest you modify your login credentials. How to Do So.

  1. Open: a new eMail Account
  2. Assign: the New eMail Address
  3. Use: a new login password (Go To: appleid.apple.com)
  4. Associate: a different method of payment to your account
  5. Enable: Two-Factor Authentication for Apple ID
