MacBook Pro battery drains in sleep mode

Was wondering the my MacBook Pro 2017 is draining slightly in sleep mode. After reading here in community that this is happened as well with model 2019. One suggestion I have read is to disable location service, which makes sense. But after having the problem as well with the Apple Watch as also others are/were having, the only one solution for apple devices is now to avoid unexpected battery drainages to disable apps and services? Poor performance from apple then...

Hey christophfromhafnarfjordur,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand you have some concerns about your MacBook Pro battery life. I definitely understand wanting to get the most from your battery life, and I'm happy to help.

It is expected that even when your Mac is put to sleep, you may see some battery usage. Since you mentioned this is slight, it doesn't sound like unexpected behavior. You can find some more information about the battery here: About Mac notebook batteries

Thanks again, and have a great day!

Thank you for explanation. I was just concerned I did not see that some years ago with older models but don't see any big issue. Just to share some observation and maybe there could be something I need to deactivate and I do not know. But I have the problem with slightly draining when the MacBook is shut down as well. Maybe is nothing but maybe there is some advise what could be the "problem".

Hi

I have o idea what is the problem. Was just thinking to post it here, maybe someone else has an idea. I usually don't consider this because my laptop is mot of the time stationary based and on power. But now recently I figured this out and was just wondering that I have next day after full charging only 90% of battery remaining and when I shut down I am also next day at only 96%, which seems to be strange. My former MacBook 15"was not behaving like that. No idea. Maybe Apple ID having a solution here when reading? :)

Hello Christoph,

I have the same problem. I have reset the ram and controls, I have reinstalled the OS, and when I took my Mac to the apple store they blamed it on Bitdefender. I have uninstalled Bitdefender for over a week and I am still getting poor battery life and the battery drain when the computer is on sleep it substantial (almost 1% a hour). I think there is a problem here with this year of Macbook pros that is not being addressed by Apple.
