External Monitor 16 Inch MacBook Pro Blurry

After 4 years since the first touchbar MacBook Pro the problem with external displays still exists on the newest 16 inch 2019 MacBook Pro with no improvement whatsoever. I have a 1080p HDMI monitor, it's an Asus VZ279HE. The monitor only has one setting, there is no TV mode yet I think OS X detects it as it would a TV. The fonts and screen are low res and blurry. Not even remotely as nice as it is when connected to a Windows computer. It detects a 60hz refresh rate at least, but that's the extent of it all. How do I fix this or can I fix it?

Hi there, Nathan.

I see that you're having difficulty using an external monitor with your 2019 MacBook Pro. When you connect your ASUS VZ279HE Eye Care Monitor. The fonts and the screen resolution are blurry, not clear like when you connect it with a Windows PC. I'm glad to help with this.

Take care.

No I already saw this article, not even remotely helpful. We sent the display back, apparently Macs have an issue with it, co-worker had the same problem. Apple really needs to address all the problems with external displays on the MacBooks, especially these newer ones with only USB-C ports. It's been ongoing for 4 years now. Surely by now they would have addressed this problem.
