usernoted process eating all memory

Anyone out there, I need help! I own a late 2015 iMac (please attachments for further details) I have not updated to the latest and "greatest" OS because when I have done it in the past...my Mac slows down.

I've decided to run with el Capital and haven't had any issues till now...the issue is with the process named "usernoted" utilizing almost all my memory and sometimes even virtual memory up to 16GB through my hard drive which is way beyond the physical memory installed in my system.

Through online investigation I found out that this process is related to the notification center. I want this process to not utilize most of my memory and if it comes down to disabling the notification center, I am totally ok with it. I've exhausted all of my energy to troubleshooting this process, I found very few "solutions" that are just simply old and do not work anymore.

I really need to solve this issue. Please if you can help let me know :)

Please restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally and test. However your system may be slow due to what has been installed on it, please do the following:

Please navigate to the Mac App Store and download the free version of EtreCheck OR please click www.EtreCheck.com where you will find the app. Once you downloaded the free app and created the report please post it as your reply to this message. In order to post it, please use the following link for more detailed instructions on how to correctly include the results:

We can then look for obvious issues that may be causing your problem.

Some of those articles are pretty old, so not sure if the advice that worked then on the older version of the OS will work for you. did you try these hints? Or was there some other troubleshooting that you tried and did not work?

Thank you, I just finished deleting those files and hope that I solved the problem :) See the attached image for an example of the frustrating bothering behavior of the process named usernoted; it is steeling my physical memory and virtual memory, making my computer extremely slow. I wonder if you guys think I might have a virus. The situation is extremely frustrating.

Delete thesefiles & restart...

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.ccxprocess.plist

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.AdobeCreativeCloud.plist

~ tilde indicates hidden Home Library.

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

1 From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.

2 In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

Usernoted is a process that is responsible for notifications on OS X.

Be very careful with Terminal & hard to see spaces...

Open the Library folder in your Home folder.

In the Library folder, open the Application Support folder.

Locate the folder named NotificationCenter. Drag this folder to the desktop.

Next, open the Terminal application. Copy and paste each line of these commands into the Terminal window, in order. Press return after each line:

cd `getconf DARWIN_USER_DIR`

rm -rf com.apple.notificationcenter

killall usernoted; killall NotificationCenter

Close the Terminal app.

Restart your computer.

Maybe some other app is using the Notification Center and not playing nice with it. Check for any login items, try disabling all of them, and adding them back in one at a time. You can find those in System Preferences/Users & Groups/Login Items.

If you are not sure where those login items are, right click on them to reveal them in Finder, so you can find them to add them back later.

The Notification Center is something built into the mac OS, but other apps that use it to report messages may be causing the problem, one idea is to check for apps that start automatically at login that may be running in the background that you might not be aware of.
