When I print a PDF it prints too light to read. I've tried both Preview and Adobe. How do I fix? Word and Pages print fine.

Does your printer configuration, or vendor support software, allow you to change the print setting to darker, if this is not a low toner issue.

I have an HP 2600N. Ink levels are all above 1/2 full. I have found a method to adjust lighter or darker.
