When using my iPad to screen mirror to Apple TV I loose the sound on iPad is this correct or can it be rectified?

When you mirror an iPad to an Apple TV both audio and video is sent to the Apple TV. You cannot send the video signal to the TV while playing the audio from iPad’s speaker.
