tell me if it is safe to delete these .plist files from................ Macintosh HD/library/Preferences....

The significance of the 23 Dec files it was the date I set up my 2017 27 inch i7 iMac. The reason I am asking is I am getting a new 2019 iMac tomorrow and want to remove any nonessential files prior to using the migration assistant. Thanks in advance for the help.

Note: I am running Mojave 10.14.6

Those files will not cause any trouble or harm when you migrate. If any belong to outmoded software or hardware, Migration Assistant does not migrate them over. I would leave them as is. However, generally speaking, deleting plist files like that would simply cause a computer to revert to default settings or behaviors for those programs or capabilities. So I think either way (leave them or delete them) should be ok.

As you are buying a new iMac that will have Catalina installed, which is quite a different OS to macOS Mojave, it is not recommended to migrate System and Library files and folders over from am older OS to a newer OS. Only use Migration

Assistant to migrate items from within your User folder.
