Signal strength on iPhone 8

Suddenly, I am losing the cellular signal at home (in Naperville, IL). Unable to get SMS, and make phone calls. Rebooting produces a weak signal, which could be lost again. My wife, with an iPhone 10, gets a normal good signal on her phone in the same premises.

Are you using wifi calling? Is your wife? Wifi calling is the recommended way of dealing with weak inside building signals.

Thanks. WiFi calling is on, but we have never before had a problem with the cellular signal. We live in a detached house, in a fully urban area.
