Degraded Cellular Signal IPhone 12 Series

My old iPhone X used to get between 2-3 bars where I live.

Since upgrading to the 12 mini I’m now lucky if I’m getting 1 bar, calls cutting out, poor signal, checked my networks website and they say excellent mobile signal for voice calls.

And yet, here I am, 1 bar, poor reception.
