Should i replace the battery of MacBook 12 inches

I have a 4 year old 12 inch MacBook and i am extremely happy using this device. However the battery needs replacement now. Since Apple had discontinued this model, i was wondering does it make sense to replace the battery and continue using this or shall i change the device to the new MacBook Pro series. Except the battery everything else is absolutely fine and and i am satisfied with the performance of this laptop.

MacBook, macOS 10.15

I suggest that you get the battery replaced, especially if you already really like your MacBook. However, most likely, the replacement will come at full cost since it would be out of either the standard warranty or extended AppleCare+ periods.

I'm assuming that you have a 2017 or 2016 MacBook. Here are a few articles that you may find helpful:

Only you can decide if $450 (or whatever the cost) is worth it to you. Unfortunately, Apple does not provide a long-term leasing plan to try out a newer notebook to see if you like it more than your current one. At best, you can purchase one and if not satisfied, return it within 14 days of purchase for a refund.

FWIW, I feel the same way about my 2012 MacBook Pro, but I realize there will be a time when repairing it will become impossible as replacement parts will become more and more scarce. Apple will basically not support their devices five years after they were last produced. Your Early 2015 MacBook was last produced by Apple in April 2016 ... so April 2021 is when it will no longer be supported. Just wanted to give you something to think about.

Thank you for your response.

I bought my MacBook 12 inches in early 2015. Its 1.2 GHz, dual core intel M processor.

My question was is it worth spending about $450 for just replacing the battery? Also, what are the general performance of the batteries after the replacement, can i expect similar battery life? Have any users faced any issues related to other performances after battery replacement.

The only reason i want to stick to my current device is that i love it so much due to its size and other convenience. The new MacBook pro or MacBook Air series do not appeal to me that much.
