Good Point. I still recommend checking with Vodafone because the one requirement that this capability has to have is the right provisioning from Vodafone in your case. Call them ask them whether your wife's iPhone is provisioned for hotspot.

Furthermore you can do some testing real quick to be sure (if you haven't tried the following)

1. Turn Cellular Data OFF and then ON - (You may have already done this)
2. You can Force Restart your SE and see if the button appears Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
3. Ensure that the iPhone SE has the most recent available update
4. Check to see if the Carrier settings are updated by following the instructions mentioned in this link https://www.payetteforward.com/iphone-personal-hotspot-not-working-heres-fix/

Yes however make sure that the HotSpot feature is supported and available from your Cellular Service Provider. If they do not support it or you do not have the feature then you will not be able to set it up and this goes for any model of a cell phone.

Thats good news that the button showed up on the iPhone SE.

On your wife's iPad Air, perform the Force Restart on it as well Restart iPad - Apple Support

See if after the force restart it connects to the SE's Hotspot.

The button may not appear there until you've gone to Settings>Cellular>Personal Hotspot and turned it on for the first time.

No, it's not. It's essentially the same phone as the 6S in a smaller package.

No I had it set up & working & then it disappeared!! Now I can’t figure out how to set it back up or anything idk what happened
