Quick question. With two phones signed into the same iCloud account and sharing messages ie with text message forwarding turned on how does Apple handle the number the recipient would see?
eg a conversation started on phone 1 is later continued on phone 2 would the recipient see the phone 2 number?
Obviously there would only be one thread between the two phones when sharing message making it hard to tell what has been sent from which number?
I assume that it would be the phone number of the phone itself. In the settings for iMessage, Send and receive>You can send and receive iMessages from>your phone number would be selected automatically. In the start new conversations from setting, you could switch to your Apple ID.
I make this assumption on the fact that back when I shared an Apple ID with my wife, our messages never got mixed up because our phone numbers were always selected in both settings. She got her iMessages and SMS messages and I got mine.
