I have a question regarding iMessage. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. The place he is staying at has really bad service. Sometimes I will receive messages on iMessage from his number while sometimes the messages will send through his gmail. Is this possible that these texts get sent from the same phone? It is there a possibility that he has a second phone? I just think it’s odd how you can send text to both the number and gmail to the same phone.
This is perfectly normal, depending on what the other user has in there settings, anyone can send a text message sometimes using that persons email, you can send messages using there gmail only if you have mms enabled in settings
Iphone to iphone iMessages go via wifi outside the SMS (text) network wherever possible.
SMS messages will be green and may come out of the sender’s text allowance.
iMessages between iphones are blue and come put of the data allowance.

MMS relates to the ability to send inages over the SMS network. It should not be required for iphone to iphone iMessages.
