Can I use Airpods with my ATV 4K without shutting off sound output to my audio system

If I connect Airpods Pro to my Apple TV 4K, does that mean that I must lose sound output to my audio system?

It would be ideal for me to be able to use both at the same time for movie sound, so I could listen with the Airpods while my wife hears the sound via my audio system speakers.

I know this may seem a bit odd, but at my advancing age I miss a lot of dialog. I'm thinking I would hear that better through the AirPods, while she is enjoying the sound the usual way, side by side.

Is this possible, or does it have to be just one way or the other?
