Does anyone know how to change the data point name of my pie chart on numbers? I used to be able to do it from the old version of numbers on my Mac book but now I can’t.
I've since been been using the numbers app on my phone which has been working fine. Other than the fact that I can’t change the legend names (data point name) on my pie graph. It’s all labeled “total data” in the pic below.

The easiest way is to make sure the column that contains the names is a header column. When I created the charts I posted, I started with a table with a header column and a header row.
Then I selected the column with the Data, then added a pie chart. Numbers assumed the category names.
In the end it was a matter of changing from plot columns as series to plot rows as series. But your reply on making header columns and rows helped me investigate different options. So thank you!
Thanks for your reply! I kind of get what you mean but this is the other half of the graph. I want the names that are under the column ‘punters’ to be the data point names. But displaying the ‘total wins as data.
like this..... This is the previous one I made but I can’t seem to do it now that numbers required an update on my lap top.
