i'm trying to link my ID to my phone number but when i go to "for You" theres nowhere to verify my ID just sign u for trial subscription

So frustrated!!! i've been working on this for three months. my son has free Apple Music through Verizon. i have called verizon and apple but no one seems to be able to link his moble number to his Apple ID . the verizon account is under my name. i know it works because my other son breezed right through the process on his with his ID. what's is the deal?

Yes we had tried that. I think we have this ironed out so let me share what I know. After the three months, a supervisor in Apple billing caught the problem at 9:30 last night. My ID had been linked to the mobile number somehow, probably during changing to the unlimited plans. She unlinked my ID and advised me to contact Verizon the next morning. This morning, I deleted and reinstalled the Music app. I then proceeded to start the Apple Music section. It promptly asked to verify my sons ID and we were off and running. So the key was unlinking my ID from it. Hope this helps
