How do I teach Apple Dictate new words?

How do I teach Apple Dictate on my MacBook new words, or correct the mistakes it makes when it gets it wrong? For example, the name "Xiaomei", causes my MacBook to "Show Mail"... preferably I would like to have a facility to say the word, and type the text it should replace that association.... how do I do this? This was easy on Dragon Dictate, but that has now been discontinued....

Can I customize dictation spelling and formatting? I am using Apple's voice dictation on my mac and I really like it. It is quite good at accurately typing what I say. I would LOVE to be able to customize a couple of things: Is it possible to change the spelling of an existing word? When I say "okay", dictation always spells it "OK". Can I change that? By default, when you start a new dictation, it capitalizes the first word, but I am often starting and stopping mid-sentence and would like the default to be lower-case. Is there a way of doing this? Apple Dictation Doesn't Enter Smart Quotes In Any App Regardless Of System Settings Apple dictation doesn't enter smart quotes in any app regardless of system settings. I have smart quotes enabled on my MacBook Air. When I type using the keyboard, the system automatically and correctly replaces the straight quotes with curly quotes at both the beginning and end of a sentence. However, when I use Apple Dictation to enter the same quotation marks and text, the system enters them as straight quotes. This error happens in native Apple apps like Notes and Mail and in external apps like MS Word and Scrivener. The problem has existed for years through multiple iterations of macOS and on numerous devices. I am an author, so this error becomes tedious and distracting when writing manuscripts over 100,000 words. Having to do a find and replace every time he is less than ideal. I know this functionality is possible as Dragon Dictation did this properly, but it is no longer supported on Mac.
