Hello yehonatan147,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with recent and frequently used emojis updating on your iPhone. I'd be happy to share information that may help.

First, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone

Next, be sure your device is fully updated: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Be sure to have a current backup prior to updating.

If you're still experiencing the same issue, remove the emoji keyboard and add it again:

  • Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Then tap "Edit" and delete the Emoji keyboard.
  • Then, add it again by going Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard. Then add the Emoji keyboard again from the list.

I hope that helps. Take care.

Hello yehonatan147,

Thank you for your reply.

For the next step, you'll need to have access to iTunes on a computer. You'll also want have a current backup through either iCloud or your computer: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

After ensuring that you have a current backup, the next step is to restore your iPhone using your computer. This will erase your device, but you'll be able to move your information back to your iPhone from your backup. Initially, set up your iPhone as a new device to test the issue. Here are the steps to restore: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.

This will help to isolate any software issues that may be causing the frequently used emojis not to update.

Take care.

Hello yehonatan147,

Thank you for taking those steps. Let's keep working on this.

Check to see if the emojis are the same while you're typing in all apps. Please report back with what you've found.

Also, since reinstalling the Emoji keyboard, make sure you've used an emoji at least 5 times. Then, check to see if it has been added to the recently used emojis.

Take care.
