I keep getting the drive to slow massage while recording my band live. I read some blogs that suggested using an external SSD drive to not load the HD.
Will this work? I just replaced my 2011 iMac with new one but it acts the same.
We record with 10 simultaneous tracks using a Berhinger XAir 18 usb interface.
Yes,
Menu File > Project Settings > Recording. You can define the recorded audio location at the bottom.
If you save the audio assets within the project, you can also store the project file on the external drive.

I have the same version and the option is there.
Most likely you didn't activate all the Advanced Tools in Menu Logic Pro X > Preferences > Advanced.

I’m not seeing that setting? I went to Preferences \recordings\ and I don’t see a place to put the destination files.
Thanks for your reply! The File\project setting\recordings takes me to the same menu. I’m using 10.4.8, did Apple remove the option?
