Hello gary from randolph,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are having an issue with additional songs in Apple Music that you didn't download. I'm happy to help you find some information.

If you tap +ADD you will add the entire album or playlist you are viewing. Here is a resource that can assist you:

Add and download music from Apple Music or the iTunes Store

If you are still having issues after reviewing the link, please let me know. Also, can you tell me if you are only seeing the extra songs when connected to your car?

Have a great day!

Hello Gary,

I've noticed that too. From what I can deduce, once you sign up for Apple Music, the music library you had previously downloaded onto your device is rendered void. Apple Music then takes that song you had downloaded previously, and plays their corresponding version. For example... I had a uploaded Rush's Chronicles CD that I ripped from the actual CD I burned. Once I got Apple Music, a couple of the songs in the song list went missing or were different versions of the song. It drove me absolutely crazy trying to figure out what went wrong.

I've come to the realization that the songs you downloaded previously, will no longer work. You are a slave to whatever Apple Music can provide. Either you cancel your Apple Music subscription, or forget using your original songs while you have an Apple Music subscription.

You'd think in the 21 Century, this wouldn't be an issue, but it is...

Hello gary from randolph,

Thank you for reaching back out to us regarding the issue you are having with the Apple Music app.

Here are a few resources that can assist you with troubleshooting:

How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you are still having issues, I would suggest that you sign out of Apple Music and sign back in. This will require you to re-download any music you have already downloaded for offline use.

To sign out of the iTunes. Go to "Settings" > "iTunes & App Store" > touch the blue "Apple ID: your@email.address" > Touch "Sign Out"

Once that is completed you will be able to sign back in using your Apple ID.

If you are still having issues after reviewing the articles, please let me know. Also, can you confirm this is happening in your Library, and not the For You section of Apple Music?

Have a great day!
