Airdropping large files

I have some large videos (of about 45 mins) that are trying to be airdropped to my iPad from an Apple laptop. One video worked and I still have loads of storage free and when they airdropped the first video it automatically went into my photos. But none of the rest will work they send completely then say they failed to send and will only save in the app ‘files’ so once it’s completely uploaded, the video won’t actually play it just says the 1.6gb video as nothing. I don’t understand why it worked the first time and won’t now? Someone please help as I need these videos they are very important
