iPad Pro USB C

We’re taking a flight later this month and plan to take my iPad (2018 Pro 11 inch) to watch Netflix etc on the plane..... my wife has some wired Beats and I have wireless Bose headphones. If I buy the USB C to 3.5mm adapter, will the iPad allow both wired and wireless connection to the headphones or will I have to buy a 3.5mm splitter too?

All versions of iPad will only send audio to a single [selected] interface. As such, you cannot send audio (or for that matter, video) simultaneously to multiple interfaces.

The only way you could send sound to two pairs of headphones at the same time would be to get a USB C to double 3.5 mm headphone splitter. That would require you to both have wired headphones.
