Inherited iPad

Hello, my mother in law passed away a few months ago and I inherited her iPad. I’m unable to log her out of her iCloud account, when i try to sign out it asks for her password which, of course, I don’t have. I click on Sign Out, it asks if I want to sign out of all documents and data stored in iCloud, I click yes, then it asks if I want to “Delete from My iPad”, I click yes then I also tried to log her out of “Find My iPad”, and it asks for a password which I don’t have. Do I need to take it into Apple?

Hello,

The iPad is locked with Activation Lock. There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. Since this is not an option for you then you will need to find the original purchase receipt. You would then need the executor of the deceased's estate to take the device and receipt to an Apple retail location. Apple will then unlock Activation Lock.
