iPad Pro - how to add existing contact to an existing group

Hi - I’m using a new iPad Pro (2019) and I’m hoping someone can provide instructions for adding an existing contact to an existing group? There doesn’t seem to be an option to do this. I’ve even logged into my iCloud account and using my iPad Pro, I can’t drag the contact into the group. Thanks!
