The emoji are on the iPad itself. You access it on the external keyboard the way you would access any additional keyboard on the device. If you are using the Apple Keyboard, it is a Globe icon in the lower left corner of the keyboard. You just need to ensure that you have Emoji installed in Settings>General>Keyboards.
Thank you! Still can’t get it to work. My external keyboard, zagg, does not have a globe icon. (Unfortch, apple does not make an external keypad for iPad mini so i had to get this one). I can’t figure out how to get emojis in any way. Please help! Thanks.
Sorry, I was not aware of the keyboard you were using. Have you checked the documentation for the keyboard. It should indicate if there is a key combination. Otherwise, I would check with Zagg.
