Hello, I received my iPhone 11 today. I used it straight away as it had charge when I took it out of the box. When the battery was at 5% I put it on charge, however it appears to be charging at a very slow rate (much slower than my 6). It’s taken an hour and half to get to 35%. Is this usual?

Can't be too sure of why it's doing that.
Obviously the iPhone 11 is capable of fast charging with a USB-C to Lighntning cable so the 5W power adapter is not going to be fast. I'm not sure that 1.5 hours is really that much less than what that 5W power adapter is capable of. You can try something faster like a 2100 mA power adapter if you've got one.
Did you by chance set this new iPhone up from the backup of a previous iPhone? If you did, your new phone is likely indexing data behind the scenes, so charging initially would likely be a bit slower.
I’m just using the regular charger that came with the phone. Unfortunately I don’t have any of those things.

Seems a bit odd, but there are all sorts of odd things that happen when a battery is new. What are you using to charge it? I'm guessing you don't have an inline USB current meter or aren't using a Mac where you can load tools (like coconutBattery) to see how much current it's drawing.
