Apple Pencil not pairing

My Generation 1 Apple Pencil won't connect to my iPad Pro anymore. It will not pair and I have tried everything. I have tried resetting the iPad and forgetting the device but it won't appear in Devices. I have tried plugging it into the Lightning port and it doesn't connect. What do I do??
