Your computer is low on memory VIRUS

I have a virus message "Your computer is low on memory" that is not true because it has more than 90GB of storage. How can I solve it? I tried different methods, no changes.

This generally means you have an app (or a collection of apps) that are consuming excessive amounts of RAM while running.

Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor may help you figure out what is going on.

Every time we open up browser pages that history is stored in RAM. It can eventually fill it up. I suggest trying to resolve your problem by periodically clearing the history of your browser(s) and see if that helps. Otherwise another app may be the offender.

Then you can download and run the free app (and recommended) EtreCheckPro. It will give you a report of what is going on. You could then post the report here and then get some expert advice as to what the issue might be. Good luck.

Command-Q. Quit the application.

If it is 3rd party software that runs in the background, then ask yourself if you really need that software. If not, then uninstall it using the vendor's uninstall instructions. For example, anti-virus utilities, Mac cleaning utilities, etc... are often times not healthy for your Mac performance.

Not sure about this.

Wouldn't say it is a Virus, but something like Adware/Scareware.

We have the same Problem in our office on one iMac since 3 Days. If you search for it online you will be aware that many more people have the exact same problem/message displayed since a few days.

At the same time, google search gives out shady sites that try to trick you in installing different "adware cleaner" for this problem. Most of the websites are online since a few days....

Our Etrecheck-Report also says "Adware detected".
